![]() of Henrietta (Henny) DuBois Prior to this time in my life, there were a few excursions into the area of art. Some art classes in high school. A camera instead of a watch when I graduated from high school in 1948. Designing family Christmas cards for silk screening. Continuing education ceramic and photography courses. My focus was on numbers. Degree in math from the University of Illinois in 1955. Engineering work at Illinois Bell after graduation. Time off to raise 5 children. Back to school in the 1970's in computer science. Seventeen-year career in computers at Kemper Insurance. Retirement in 1994. Now I'm pursuing the arts. Photography and ceramics. Have
been taking classes in both these areas at local community colleges.
Have had work accepted in juried shows at Elgin Community College, Skyway,
Norris Gallery, Bloomingdale Park District shows, the Graue Mill &
Museum Photography Exhibition, the Woman Made Gallery in Chicago, the
Lemon Street Gallery in Kenosha, WI , Raue Center for the Arts in Crystal
Lake, and the 119th Street Artists Photography Exhibit in Whiting, IN.
At the 2000 juried art show at Elgin Community College, a digital photo
collage received the best of show award. |
